Bhavna Talwar has been an Assistant Director on various Motion Pictures and Ad films, and has over 8 years of experience.

She was nominated as agency producer for "The Rain - Reebok" commercial at the Cannes Ad Fest.  

Bhavna is amongst the new breed of Indian directors, blending Indian story telling and sensitivity with Western technique and style.  

Bhavna's debut film, "Dharm", has received rave reviews from the critics and the film media; and was chosen to be the closing film at the World Cinema Section at The Cannes Film Festival 2007.  

Dharm stars Pankaj Kapur and Supriya Pathak Kapur, and is the story of a Pandit in Benaras, who fights the fanatical forces of Hindu religion to adopt a Muslim child - and in the process learns the true meaning of religion.  

What is unique about this directorial debut is the fact this is one of the first times that our younger breed of  Directors has not stayed within the comfort zone of familiarity. Having been brought up in cosmopolitan Mumbai the contextual understanding of this film was the hardest task that a young, first time Director could undertake. But this paid of well, with the world rights of the film being acquired by Films Distribution, France.
